The raccoon stripe is gone :o

I remember years ago there was a thread about doing that; a board member actually did. Could more than one owner have done that :?:

I have never been there, but I have been to Singapore, and that is a place worthwhile visiting.

I've been having a lot of fun exploring it via off-road bike (KLX250) and more recently 4x4 truck (Hilux), and yes, it's a huge place!

An ancient knee injury has recently resulted in a knee replacement op', and so I've decided I really should sell my beloved bike. Standing on the pegs and hammering over rough ground on a knee implant just seems... silly.

I'm not sure if I like the lack of 'raccoon stripe' :D as I've spent so long envisioning the thing... Worse, I suspect they may have made the same mistake as I did, and used "marine paint' instead of gelcoat. That the windlass is a bit white and so is the primer bulb suggests some hurried "Slap some white paint on it and sell it" approach. More reassuring though is the original and scruffy-looking cockpit, which does seem to be original. I'm hoping a dilute soap solution brushed over then a pressure-washer an hour later will bring it up nice and white again?

And if they did 'marine paint' it then the pressure washer will push the paint off...

Regarding the fire extinguishers, I suspect it's the pressurized aspect. Can't order anything here pressurized as there's very little surface mail, all by air. Air is fast but very restrictive.

I guess you can strategically place buckets of baking soda in the cockpit and cabin. :D

Maybe the Arm and Hammer company will place your face on the box :?: 8) :D

Maintaining a full bladder at all times might come in handy. :o

why would fire be a problem on a boat, it's surrounded by water?!

(kidding)

The electronic flares don't 'shoot' anything, they just flash VERY brightly SOS.

here's the one I have, it also came with a distress flag for daytime: https://www.hodgesmarine.com/ori547-ori ... poEALw_wcB

there was a tropical hurricane from mexico here over the past two days so a whole pack of us sailed out of oceanside to ride the swells - it was a lot of fun but today I am exhausted. we all had our flares in case of trouble. the only emergency call on the radio was a power boat guy who ran out of gas. we went out for two days - they were about 5 to six feet in every direction with intervals near zero - swells on top of swells - lots of fun like moguls.

Only if you count Australia as a continent and not an island. I'm calling it an island and claim the prize of largest island. 8)

PS: Australia is 11 times the size of Texas.

You would still win. No contest :D

P.S. We’ve been to Greenland; looking foreword to Australia to make our own comparisons. We just need to live long enough to check off everything on the bucket list. :)
