Enough talk about small rigs, what's the biggest tow rig?

Post by DLT »

I bet Moe has us all beat.

But, I use a 4x4 Excursion with the V10. Yeah, I wish it was a diesel... Oh well... For those that don't know, this is essentially a monster SUV body on a F-250 frame.

Unless I get into a nasty incline, like in mountains, I forget the boat is back there... But, the boat still makes the truck look small...

I bet there are those of you sitting back saying, "That explains why he had to have that 22# anchor!"

Anyone who uses a dually has Moe beat, as would a 172" Crew Cab/Long Bed. I think there's a single rear-wheel F350 owner here somewhere also.

2002 F250 Extended Cab/Long Bed (158"), 7.3L (444 cu in) International (Harvester) Powerstroke intercooled turbo-diesel (totally stock, no chip, no intake, no exhaust), 3.73:1 limited-slip axle, 4WD, towing package, camper package, LT265/75R16 Load Range E (80 psi) all-terrain tires.

I've got a 172" Crew Cab/Long Bed, 4x2, non-dually and V-10.

Moe, I think your diesel and 4x4 put you a little ahead of me.

My father-in-law has us all beat: Freightliner w big Caterpillar engine. He hauls a 17,000lb 5th wheel likes it's nothing.

All things must be put in perspective. In 1988 I bought a Dodge minivan with V6 and long wheel base. I thought I was king of the hill pulling my little popup camper.

Amazingly the minivan still runs great, has its original transmission and Roger says I can pull the Mac :| :D :( :o :? :x :P  :?:
(hard to pick just one emoticon for that one)

I wouldn't tow with anything less than my Canyonero. Nothing gets in my way and I'm damn proud of it!!

Image

Can you name the truck with four wheel drive,
smells like a steak and seats thirty-five..

Canyonero! Canyonero!

Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down,
It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown!

Canyonero!

The Federal Highway comission has ruled the
Canyonero unsafe for highway or city driving.

Canyonero!

12 yards long, 2 lanes wide,
65 tons of American Pride!

Canyonero! Canyonero!

Top of the line in utility sports,
Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!

Canyonero! Canyonero! (Yah!)

She blinds everybody with her super high beams,
She's a squirrel crushing, deer smacking, driving machine!

Canyonero!-oh woah, Canyonero! (Yah!)

Drive Canyonero!

Woah Canyonero!

Woah!

We have a new winner, at least by specs, and certainly by horsepower and torque.

I think Petes truck wins on wheelbase, overall length and cargo volume. I think Frank C has a pretty big truck also and someone else has a big GM truck with the Duramax as well. The 350/3500 will beat mine with towing capacity.

Those Scouts are real animals. I have the F-350 Super Crew PSTD that Moe metioned. It's my work truck but I use it to tow my boat as well. It pulls well...
