Mine is starting to show it's age (787c2 is 15 years old, screen sometimes flickers, depth jumps around when it's warming up, one time the GPS reported no cable - reboot fixed that).
I'm leaning towards the Humminbird 410220-1 Helix 5, CHIRP Di GPS G2. A 797C2 is for sale on Ebay - but it's 10 years old, and not a lot cheaper than a brand new unit and has no warranty.
What I've learned so far is that Humminbird is still using the
exact same power cable - so I can use my perfectly fine existing one. The new unit has the GPS set up internally -
so that's one less thing to worry about. The transducer (comes with it) has the depth, water temp, etc. So all I have to do is replace my current one (on the right rear transom, I suspect yours is the same)
The screen imaging of the lake bottom is much improved - kids will really like it. And the fish images also.
I read reports of problems with the SI (side imaging). I don't need it so I'm skipping it.
