Finally having the motor installed on my and running into an issue. I'm having a Mercury 4 stroke 40 installed. The mounting plate sits very close to the top of the gate valve and the motor wont trim out more then an inch or so because it hits the steering linkages up top. How have you other 19 owners worked around this?
try searching using google or DuckDuckGo. Use the string "Site:macgregorsailors.com 19 motor transom. It shows a bunch of fixes for that. The search function on this site only goes back a short time due to a server problem.
I ended up ordering the Seastar 10" bracket, hopefully the boat will be in the water by the 4th. If not I'll probably be sleeping in the garage for a few days....
