Solar Panel Bracket

Post by Dan Cowett »

Hey folks
I have a 14x14 rigid solar panel that I would like to mount on a bracket off of the starboard stern rail. I cant seem to find an appropriate bracket for the installation. Got any ideas on where to purchase before I grab up some parts and manufacture something? It would need to be on a swivel or angle type bracket of some kind. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Bracket

Post by Dan Cowett »

Well incase anyone was wondering I used an antenna bracket, threaded sched. 40 pvc fitting and tubing along with white poly cutting board material and SS screws and bolts purchased at Home Depot. I fabricated the thing and mounted it to the starboard stern rail. So far so good. The 5 watt panel delivers a steady slow flow. Its nice having a fresh battery when returning to the boat.
Cheers! 8)
