Blue Water Yachts - Great Service

Post by sailboatmike »

Everybody seems to complain loud and long when we got poor service and very few people take the time to acknowledge good service.

I have been dealing with Ezra from BWY organising to get some stuff sent over and I'm really impressed with the service so far.

I rang first and spoke to Ezra to get some information and told him that I would be sending a email after I read reports on here that sometimes the email response can be a bit slow.

He has really gone out of his way to give me the information I wanted and replied within a couple of hours of me sending emails even with the time difference, some of my questions required a bit of leg work on his behalf to get the information I needed, but the replies have always been quicker than I expected.

As all the Macgregor dealers here in OZ are now defunct or if they are still running they are not answering their emails its great to speak to someone knowledgeable and helpful.

Well done Ezra and BWY, keep up the great work and I hope all my dealings with you are as pleasurable as the current one

I agree, Have had nothing but great service and advise but you have to call and talk to them. Ordering on the web site is not great.

I stopped by BWY last week and saw their new facility. The new location is much larger than their old one. I ordered a spinnaker and associated equipment. They have taken over as the primary Macgregor supplier from the factory. Cheryl and Ezra were great at explaining and advising what I need. My opinion is, customer service come before selling you something you don't need. I love BWY!!

Yeah I agree. It worked fine for me too for my last order. I couldn't do that a year or so ago.

I've spoken w Cheryl and Todd re and order or two and have been very impressed. Their knowledge and patience (dumb questions) are excellent.

The new parts store is rather too sensational in my book, I didnt know half that stuff was available, now my credit card will never be the same.

For those that live local the sails are actually cheaper if you pick them up, Ezra told me they have added $30 on the web site to each sail to cover postage within the USA which isnt charged if you pick up

I added the outhaul kit, the single line reefing kit, new Macgregor stickers and some other bits and pieces.

As my boat ages I can see myself ordering lots of stuff to keep her in tip top condition and improve the sailing experience

Yes! Much better. I never liked the "search" way of navigating the old site. This allows me to browse for stuff I didn't know I wanted.

Ezra has been great.

As someone who has recently purchased a Mac, I just got off the phone with BWY yesterday. My 1999 26X came with the original mast raising system, and I wanted to upgrade to the newer system that has a built in winch on the mast raiser. I was happy to pay for the whole package, but BWY suggested that I could simply drill some holes in my original mast raising pole, and that I only needed to purchase the winch.

In other words, they talked me out of spending an extra $100 that I would have been happy to pay.

Now that's great service!

Thanks to this thread, I remembered I had ordered the steering/motor quick disconnect for my :macm: about a week ago.....

I got back to my home computer last night and saw the email from BWY, confirming my order had shipped. The new web site is actually usable now! Good stuff all around.

Ahhh....you made me cry! What nice words! We do try to always be helpful and friendly, but sometimes we are not perfect. The new web site is good for us and its nice to hear it is working well for you too! What has been interesting for me is that we have a lot fewer phone calls, the orders come in and we never get to talk anymore! Don't get me wrong this is very good in many ways, we just can't answer all the phone calls all the time! But, I do like to talk to you guys too. Thank-You so very much! And, please give me a call if you would like to see something offered on the site that we don't carry or if you are having questions!

Cheryl, I have to echo all comments above re: Ezra's service as well. First rate. Also, postage to Oz has been quite reasonable and timely delivery. Great service overall, and it's really heart warming to know there's a specialist supplier out there who can fix anything I might break on the boat.

Now, if you could just do something about the foreign exchange rate, I'll give the new website a try!

Cheers, Marc
