Thread to repair anti-UV fabric on Genoa

Just thought I'd ask this: I've noticed that the anti-UV strip on our Genoa needs to be repaired -- specifically it just needs to be re-sewn in places. Do I need to use anti-UV thread for this, or would that be unnecessary?

Yes you need UV stabilised polyester sail thread probably in M40/V69 size.
