Re: Mac-less
Hey this sounds like fun. I'm hoping to have the entire summer off again this year and want to spend a lot-O-time on the boat. Maybe 2 weeks going north and 2 more coming back south. T'would be kewl to meet up with y'all.

Thanks. We are excited.reastmure wrote:Wow Bob! Fantastic! Very envious. Looks very capable for anywhere you want to go.
The plan is to head north from BC mid to end of April, so should be in the Ketchican or Juneau area sometime mid- late May. Planning on breaking it up into two trips, second one with the family in tow. A little early to consider it 'summer', but a great time of year with stable southerly winds and warm, drier weather without the fog. Fishing won't be as good ,but the crabbing is great.reastmure wrote:Hey Cliff,Flightfollowing wrote:Bob,
Make damn sure you have a boat ready for "northern roundup 2017" early next summer, as you said earlier in this thread ".. I'll also still host a northern roundup but I'll prob be at the back of the pack from now on" I'm holding you to that statement!
I doubt you will be at the back of the pack with whatever boat you find (if we sail, otherwise motoring you might be).
Anyway, after leaving you and Dick last summer I spent close to 2 weeks in or around Juneau and there were at least 2 Mac 26m's in the marina I was in, maybe you can borrow one or convince them to join NR2017?
Of course you are always welcome to crew with us for NR2017, but I am pretty sure my seamanship skills would try your patience. Cliff
Got any dates in mind for NR2017?

I always have to recalibrate my conception of 'warm' and 'dry' and even 'summer' when reading posts from you guys way up there.yukonbob wrote:The plan is to head north from BC mid to end of April, so should be in the Ketchican or Juneau area sometime mid- late May. Re: Mac-less
That's for sure - when I go up there I don't even take the boat - too many great ferry captains and sailboat skippers up there to chews from so why risk my neck on water that is too ruff for me? I can just ride with someone else!Tomfoolery wrote:I always have to recalibrate my conception of 'warm' and 'dry' and even 'summer' when reading posts from you guys way up there.yukonbob wrote:The plan is to head north from BC mid to end of April, so should be in the Ketchican or Juneau area sometime mid- late May. Well to be fair we've spent more days sailing barefoot, shirtless in shorts in May than any other month. June can get hot and no wind, July gets rainy, August gets rain and fog.

Man
Something is not working there - you guys need to call the department of weather or whomever is in charge and get that fixed - it's un-natural.

Re: Mac-less
These quote attachments are getting rather long (sorry about that). My wish would be for the NR'17 to begin around mid June as I am out of the Territory till June 10th or so. What say Cliff? I like the idea of 'the mother ship' lol.yukonbob wrote:Thanks. We are excited.reastmure wrote:Wow Bob! Fantastic! Very envious. Looks very capable for anywhere you want to go.

I'll see what I can do. Depending on how long it takes to get up the coast I may or may not be able to take more time off but we'll see. I'll know better in the spring when I'm past Prince Rupert.reastmure wrote:These quote attachments are getting rather long (sorry about that).
