If $$$ is not an object and you truly want to go off-shore with a 30+ foot trailer-able sailing machine the CC31 http://www.corsairmarine.com/ is the only way to go & go fast. If Hawaii is your goal the annual Baja HaHa to the Big Island & South Pacific has 30/40 boats leaving in unison every spring & the Corsair 28s/31s stays with the big cats/tris most of the way. From my research and common sense the Mac is a very limited Coastal Cruiser, sure it can make 60/90 Nat. Mile Blue Water crossings within well planned weather windows & will hug the coasts 20/30 miles off-shore nicely if well planned and equipped. Anything beyond these limitations in a 26 Mac X or M would be unsound in my opinion.

Hmmm, that Viva should be called Viva Mac!!! Alot of boats try and copy our Macs now.....don't they? I honestly like it except one thing......way too much wood for my tastes. I guess my lack of love for wood on a boat is that it really seems like a dungeon.....dark and damp, I don't know, but I'd still vie for a Mac 65' for my next boat! And just keep the X for it's dinghy!

And then again Im looking for the most BANG for my buck and you sure cant beat the Mac with every trinket available less the helicopter on the bow for under the price of a good pickup even with GMs employee discount being offered now.

Not a Mac

I'd say the Viva shares some values with the MacGregors, but there is a glaring omission - the ability to go fast under power. I'd say these are more in the family of the Catalina and Hunter trailerables.

Regarding the 25' Hunter. I saw a pic of their dingy with a 2hp outboard. Does anyone know the make of the dingy?

Nope, It's an inflatable with a 2hp Honda. It's one of the "wasting no time" in the Hunter 25 post at the top
