We actually did a back and forth last Saturday. We dropped the kids off at my parent's place and left Ottawa at 6pm. Checked into our hotel in Binghamton, NY at around 11:30pm. We were back on the road the following morning at 7 and at the seller's location by 10am.Catigale wrote:

The boat hadn't moved in about five years. The tires had caved into the driveway asphalt by about four inches. We packaged up what came with the boat, put on some new bearing buddies, the grease in the bearings looked good, so we just added new grease and then we were pretty much good to go.
Getting the trailer out was a little tricky. We had to jack up the trailer and fill the holes with some rocks that happened to be laying around, otherwise, the minivan was unable to pull it out.
The tires rounded out after a few miles, but we were forced to stop at the first gas station to put in some air and take off the port fender. Something heavy must have been put on it because at every bump the tire would rub. We just removed it and were on our way, taking it slow at first.
We stopped about 30 miles after and I took temp readings of the hubs, they were in the 35C range, so all was good.
With a stop or two for food and fuel and customs, we made it home by 10:30 that night.
A half-way beer would have been awesome though!
