I've just completed the first mod with a fitted and hinged section of my old hardware. I think the hardest part was accessing and removing the bow roller hardware. Right now, the next (and last) thing to be done is fabricate and attach another fore-stay to a second mast hound somewhat above the original. It was important to me to be able to quick release the haul-down as we frequently go in canal locks with other boats. And it also has to be done when using the trailer.
There is the remaining issue of how to adequately release and recover the anchor without fouling the sprit stays and I'm trying to think through that... Nice looking sprit.....I was looking back in 5he pictures and saw that swim platform...that's awesome, I always wanted to think up something like that. Must be nice to have that dock close.
