Shredded Genoa

Post by bhbell »

Due to a wicked thunderstorm, my roller furling genoa on my 2003 26M has been shredded.

I would like to source a replacement ASAP (roller furling genoa or jib). I would prefer to source it in Canada for faster shipping.

Any thoughts? Anyone switching head sails and looking to sell their old sail?

Our season is short and I'd like to get back on the water with more than just a main sail.

Try kijiji. They've got a decent amount of used sails. If not there are lofts on the west coast $$

I know they are not in Canada but they are just across the boarder. Blue Water Yachts is where I bought mine last month. If you go with the factory replacement like I did you could possibly have it in a few days. Mine arrived the same week I ordered it. Price could not be beat either.

So do I, for clarity, precision, and unambiguity, but I didn't think anyone cared. :|

I have an 89 D with roller furler. Their basic OEM replacement sail was $400 US. It is the same quality as what the Macgregor came with, which if memory serves is a 4 oz dacron. In about $100 increments you can move up a level to multiple steps.
The best way is to call them. Ezra is in the sail shop and will explain prices and options. No I am not affiliated with them as others have stated, just another happy customer.

The time difference is the problem, what time zone are they in, we are GMT +10, I presume they may be GMT -5 so 15hrs before Australian East Coat time

So just call them tomorrow, which will be today over here, and ask them to ship it out yesterday...you'll get it in no time! :P

Vizwhiz, Australia should be about 16 hours ahead of them. They are located on the west coast of the US.
