Also consider a small pressure cooker or your bbq for many items. Pressure cook a roast or chicken then roll it around on the bbq at the end to finish it off. You can also do a variety of steamed breads etc in pressure cookers and the cooking time is very short on all items and they are sealed so spilling is near impossible.

I have the Omnia too. Only made Corn bread, French bread and Pillsbury Biscuits. All came out good.
Here's a website with good info : http://theboatgalley.com/omnia-stove-top-baking-oven/

Hmmm , And I was thinking that I was going to get by without another mod this year  :D But it does sound like a vey useful and almost mandatory appliance for Dauntless 8) Ron.

What we do is put the bottom part on the oven with the oven on high for 3 minutes, then we place the part with the food on it and the lid. Once this is done we turn the stove down to the lowest setting and bake for the time the recipe calls for. Once you put the part with the food on do not let your hand stray over the open part of the stove that is in the center or all the hair on your hand goes up in smoke. It is like a funnel for the heat. Just get the lid on immediately. So far we have not burned anything. We mostly do cookies, muffins and cakes. We of course use a propane stove, so it might be a little different for a alcohol stove. I read somewhere else that you can use a large heavy stainless or aluminum pot, for the bottom then put a spacer of wire or something then just use a regular baking pan. But to save space we bought the omnia stove.
