On my last boat, I had this head. It is a Thetford 885 Electric MSD. It comes with a pump-out spout that you just attached a hose to. I added a 2 foot hose and a cap on the end to hook the pump out hose too. Later I tried pumping out through the toilet's center hole with the water tank removed which I found to work easier than the spout. :o

This may be a stupid question, but if you have a real head installation or a PP with pumpout, do you have to use a pumpout at a marina to drain the system? We spent 2 weeks last year in the Adirondacks and no marina's with pumpouts. What do you do in those situations?

Thanks,
Greg

Greg, as long as you have the original screw on covers for the PP you can easily convert it back to a portable PP. You will need to temporarily seal your hoses on the pump out.

Greg

I have carried the bottom of my Saniflush to a restroom and dumped - not the most appetizing task but sometimes easier than dealing with pumpouts without correct fittings, etc.

Release of black water in inland lakes is verboten of course.

The key to dumping the PP into a marina toilet is to hit the flush handle and as the whirlpool forms dump the PP. This greatly reduces the er, ah, splashing. :o

Thanks for the response Carl, that makes sense.
I assumed the dump stations in the campsites are just that, a place to dump the camper's holding tank and no suction system available. We always had a toilet available at the ramp to unload the holding tank, but after a few days, it takes a few flush cycles to get it all down. I wouldn't try to dump the whole tank then flush- most likely the toilet would plug up.
Good suggestion Tom, the goal is kinda like the inverse of it hitting the fan! :D

I have been using Toms idea of flushing while pouring at home. No splashing and gets the job done fast.

Thanks for the tip Tom.
