Yeah, sorry - I think I will drive over to New Jersey this summer and stay in the Liberty Harbor camp ground and ride the PATH over to the subway and see you guys in Rochester. What's the best time of year for Rochester?
How come you guys in Canada are always making fun of New York people? Must be an inside joke - (we Californians are pretty clueless about the rest of the world) - anyways - September 5th is not hot anymore in New York? I guess fall comes early over there. Last time I was there in July and it was really really hot.

What's the best time of year for Rochester?
Fixed it for you.
And he's right. June 1, or at least that's when spring really starts. But September 5 could either be hot summer, or snow. One never knows around here.
Here in the Mojave Desert the lakes aren't frozen they're dry. The nearest water big enough for my Mac is at least a 4 hour drive. Land-sailing is a lot of fun but opportunities are limited. Either it's too hot or no wind or, after the rare occasion that it does rain, we have to wait for the mud to dry.
When I retire (hopefully less than a year from now.) my wife wants to move back to Minnesota where she grew up. I'll be happy to live close to a lake, even if it is frozen 4 months out of the year. 6-8 months of sailing is still better than here.
p.s. I think I will try one of those iceboats during the winter.

Rochester is way over there by the big lakes - I'm on the wrong side of the state. Thanks for correcting me - I keep getting Buffalo and Rochester and Danbury mixed up. Now I know why the Canada guys are making fun of you.

Those Canada guys are a lot of fun.
Temperature here hardly ever seems to change; it's like Spring or Fall all the time. But we can tell the difference by whether or not there's leaves on the trees.
