Nice Q,
I might even do the piano hinge on my solid door as it gets in the way of my companionway steps.

Okay, my first top 5:

1A. Raised gooseneck, & therefore boom, 10"s. This helped with: 1B, 3B & 5. & allows unstooped, full standing & moving about in cockpit.

1B. The Bimini, oversized ~8'x8'. Used every sunny day. But would like to put window with flap in to view sailing mainsail. & one day, velcro in side screen panels to make enclosure.

2. Modified Captain's seat. I cut off horizontal & got 20"s more room in cockpit. & changed hinge to starboard side W/ boarding ladder on Port transom from PO. This was a no brainer. I use this on & off water for boarding.

3A. 20" wheel - When isn't bigger better? & allowed room for wheel autopilot.

3B. My water & shower system. It's been altered through the years but really helps being in saltwater for rinsing engine & peeps.

4. E-tec Engine. I can winterize in driveway, do computer & chart plotter hookup. & once again, Bigger is better 8)

5. Added Traveller & spray shield. This is all mine. Didn't copy from anyone but very useful triple duty. Also houses my outside speakers

1. Raise boom 7" for new Bimini.
2. Full enclosure
3. C-Head
4. Anchor and Anchor Roller
5. Auto pilot
6. I also would like to add brand new 2015 custom built tandem axle aluminum trailer. :) :) :)
Not necessarily in that order. 8)

Hey Ron,

By raising the boom, have you found the boat any more tender?

Does selling a :macx: for the price of a :macm: and buying a :macm: for the price of a :macx: count?

After that, a few simple mods:

1. New Marine traveller head with pressure water and pump out fittings
2. Good old EZ cleats - the best $100 dollars ever spent
3. Moving bimini to stanchion tops
4. Cabin curtains
5. Getting admiral on-board and completing a 10-day trip in Georgian Bay, with kids. No hotels. Ok not a mod, but the best part of 2015, by far - and a great omen for 2016 and beyond! :)

In order of completion and importance
1 storage units for clothing and sundries. Geesh where do I put everything??
2 helm seat mod. Split the vertical and seat, made seat flat. Geesh this seat is clunky.
3 wheel lock. Geesh I got no one to steer while I put the dang sails up
4 skegs on bottom. Geesh this boats squirrly under power
5 anchor windlass! Geesh pulling up the size anchor you need to park these things is tough

6 custom sunshade.Geesh I'm getting frickin sunburnt
7 companion way slide slide boards. Geesh that big one piece things a pita
8 different nonskid and extra glass on deck. Geesh the thin deck really bugs me
9 extra strong boarding ladder that fits on the corner of the stern. Geesh I needed a way to climb up.
10 different traveler control lines. Geesh I needed to get rid of this clunky end cleats on the track.

And more too.

It's fascinating to see what others have done and valued...

The Admiral's list:
1) Removable bow ladder. We launch at a ramp without a jetty and I can be picked up and dropped off in calf-deep water.
2) Cleats on loo door turning it into a line (rope) locker, plus stowing everything from the boat hook to life jackets ... all reachable from cockpit.
3) Lining 4 of the lockers with plastic bins (heated and folded with hair dryer, then unfolded inside locker)
4) Little solar panel mounted on stanchion to keep the motor and house battery topped up year round.
5) Boom Vang (kicker)

My list:
1) Two extra cleats on the mast and rings at the base to clip lines when trailering.
2) Home-made continuous top-down Furler for Macgregor Asymmetric spinnaker.
3) Storage covers from recycled PVC billboard...one for cockpit used all the time, and the other for everything forward of the cockpit for long storage.
4) Long PVC pipes to extend goalposts.
5) Moving motor battery to pedestal.

I would LOVE to know how you did this....I want one, too!!!

My top mod so far is waiting an entire sailing season before deciding on any mods...I have a lot better idea of what I want to do now!
