A little rough coming back today. Westport Harbor was a welcome calm and the ramp was empty. Pullout and rdeparture in 1 hour 15 minutes (includes loading car topped tender)

My Mercury BF 50 failed to fire after three cranks, so instead of running down the battery and gave it a shot of ether which immediately spun up. I removed the under cowl filter, cleaned a small amount of crud from bottom, pumped 50 ml clean fuel to rinse the bowl, then reassembled.

Vroom. Cruised home at 3000-3500 rpm got 2 hours

Only four days this year.

:(

New business, two kids headed to college, moms house all conspired to keep us of water this summer.

Good breakfast, a Happy crew. Egg beaters are a lot more convenient on board.

Snagged an old oyster pen with the mud anchor
Pulled it up, marked it with a milk jug, and called it in to the harbor master. Always keep the HM happy.

Westport MA shots

Back Eddy restaurant here has good food but pricey.

This is where we anchor. Entrance to harbor is at Southeast end, the best beach in the world is in the foreground, a 15 second swim from our anchorage.

OK, I give up. Why is the forestay/furler pinned to the bow rail? :|

With someone at the helm, motoring up the Royal River, I have the boat de-rigged and ready for transport before reaching the launch ramp. Doing same would be easy on the Westport River too.
