In the stern berth, I use an outdoor carpet which I scored from work. We don't keep the mattresses in the boat anymore as the pizza oven is only a storage area for us now.

And while we are in the stern berth, one problem is that those horrible hatch covers are not strong enough and fall in, and a second problem is that they move around. Some guys use hook and loop stuff and other fixes. As you can see, my fix for both issues is some lightweight cheap pine batterns that I have glued and screwed onto each cover. This gives heaps more strength and stops the sideways movement. WIth the carpet on top, its all good in there.

Ray, I really like the animal pattern. Did you have the edges stitched? Looks custom.

That and my blue mood lighting would be purrrrrrfect.

I love this LED lighting. I have just made up a panel for a row of switches, and will be controlling various areas of the boat with different colours of those strips.

The cheapest source I've found for them is HobbyKing.com . Have you found them cheaper anywhere? I use the waterproof ones on the floats of my R/C float plane:

Yes, I fly an R/C float plane off the water, at night!

I also used the waterproof at the top of the mast as an anchor light. Just wrapped them all the way around the mast. They get a bit cloudy when they stay wet for a while (such as in the rain) but they still seem to work.

Lomcevak, where are you located? You should update your profile.

LED anchor light strip? That's clever. I bet it looks very nice. Do you have photos?

The RC Plane is awesome. You fly it at night? I'd be afraid . I have an RC quadcopter. It is fantastic, but I'm afraid to fly it over water as they sink quite fast.

I buy my LED strip lighting from Amazon. Cheap and free shipping.

Nope, sorry. But it did pass an uninvited RCMP inspection the night of the fireworks!

Quads are designed to be self-stabilzing. R/C aircraft, not so much. Believe it, or not, in many cases, it is easier to see when you fly at night! I just wish I could bring it with me on the Mac, but it doesn't exactly 'collapse down' easily.

You could put pool noodles on the quad, and the FliteTest YouTube channel has a video on some amazing electronics waterproofing products!

Those are THE BEST prices I've seen on LED strips. Not sure if I'd get free shipping here to Canuckland, though.

That looks like a pretty large-scale R/C plane, it looks almost life size in the picture.

Here's a "waterproof" quad copter that actually lands in the water.

59.5" Wingspan - the picture lies!

That quad is cool. Did you see the vid where one of them flipped it in the water, and was able to flip it back over, and then take off again? Come a long way from the balsa planes I flew in the late 80s!

Just went on Amazon and found a source that offers free shipping of the LEDs to Canada. They should be here in 4 - 9 business days. A few dollars more (taking into account exchange rate), but not too bad. $15.99 CAN$ for the waterproof white ones.

Boy we're getting way off topic!
