The 8' Walker Bay has been a great choice for us and our 2000X.
Might I ask what a typical price point would be on a new Walker Bay 8 without the sail kit?

My Achilles is ten years old and as dependable as ever. If you have not detected it yet, I am very happy with the quality of that dinghy. I wish the same for you.
Roger that. Thanks. :)

Craig's list is your friend on this stuff.

I got an Achilles plus 2HP two stroke listed at 200 for 150, after I jawed him down. That spell checked to something offensive, btw.... :D

Looks like Fun! And about 5X more than the same performing boat with an outboard.

Yes, the jet tender is pretty amazing. But, getting back to "real life" for me, anyway. I wanted to ask if you had ever had to patch your Achilles, and, if so, what was successful. I have a dismal track record at patching PVC inflatables despite different glues, clamps, waiting the prescribed time, etc. :x

I assume that this inquiry is directed at me.

I have had only incident where a patch was needed. I must have over inflated the keel. One day I noticed that it no longer functioned. My solution was returning it to the dealer, and he made necessary repairs. I have been more aware since then.

Including the keel & pressurized floor, there are four air chambers, and I have never had a problem other than the keel, which is the smallest chamber. It is the easiest to be overinflated.

That is great news. It is nice to know that there are professional patching services available, but more than that, you have only had that one problem in 10 years. Even a fiberglass or a wooden boat can need repairs in that timeframe. Thanks,

OK, when I get my Achilles, we can form a pack. First one that needs a patch going forward buys the other one a bottle of brew of preference. Mine will be a Pusser's Rum; they claim to be the official rum of the English Navy back in the sailing days. Good stuff. Last time I had some was back in BVI back in 2003. Good memories! :D

You can have the rum; I'll have 12 year old Caol Ila, or anything else from Islay :)

The water tender 10 sells new at WM for about 600 bucks.

Mine is on its 8th season going to the rocky cape, being dragged onto shore by 6 teens and it's done great.

It is heavy at 100# so car topping it got a lot easier when Caitlin reached 6 feet tall. Somehow I car topped it myself when the kids were younger ....

Different expressions of Caol Ila have generally rated highly at spirit ratings competitions. The 12-year, for example, received two double gold, three gold, and one silver medal from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition between 2005 and 2010. It also received an above-average score of 90-95 from Wine Enthusiast in 2005.[7] The 18- and 25-year expressions, though not as frequently rated by outside agencies, have also tended to score well.
I had never heard of Carol Ila distillery before so i looked it up on wikipedia. Sounds like you have a very refined taste. I suspect that the cost of same means I had better be careful with my Achilles! You are on! :P
