$8k sounds like a great price. Even if the motor is shot, that's a great deal for the boat.
That's a blue 26M. The M's were introduced in 2002. Not sure if blue hulls were available in 2002. My guess is this boat isn't that old. Just neglected.
You must buy this boat for $8k. If not, tell me where it is and I'll buy it for spare parts. BTW, you need to post your location in your profile.

Live aboard a 26' boat? There's no shower. No refrigerator. I wouldn't do it. I've heard people who have for short whiles. Too small in my opinion. However, if your needs are few, I suppose a person could do it with a marina providing showers etc.

$8000 for an M is a heckuva deal! Does it have a motor?

With motor & trailer bank should loan you twice that.
My best guess is it is a 04 model.

I found a 26M its been sitting on the side of a house on the trailer for many years. I would say at least 10. paint is faded not sure if its got a motor to go with it but just looking for a gestimation of price before I go knocking on the door and asking about it . Don't know the specifics yet but like I said just looking for what these powersailors are going for.
ours is up on ebay. a bit north of what you would get that one for, but mine is done and serviced and well equipped. check out a recent thread of mine here on the trailer tounge. They all rot from the inside out, as there is nowhere for the water to go once it gets in there.

remember there is no such thing as a cheap boat! The cheaper the boat, the more it will cost in the long run!

You get that for say 8, add another 8 for a motor, another 5+ for a trailer..add a few grand for a proper paint job... probably need sails.. grand or 2 (or more).. you are at the price of a boat that is well cared for

Hello,
From the pic:
1 Steel trailer sans hydraulic brake coupler 02 - 04 but appears to be in good shape (not used much).
2. Missing a lot of stuff like life lines, standing rigging. Hopefully inside somewhere.
3. Has bottom paint so somebody intended to use it a lot.
4. Water line and oxidation marks suggests a slip with the ballast empty.
5. Zero rust at the tongue jack, wheel and safety chain suggests the trailer saw less of the elements than the boat did. Even the wheel looks nice and white.
6. No registration numbers.
7. No apparent exterior mods visible.

There is an interesting story about this boat I suspect.
I would buy it if I knew where it was…….. AND the port side and bottom showed no damage.

Wow, you are very observant and that is interesting. Where is the registration? Another forum member recently found his boat didn't have a clean title.

I would assume the rest of the parts (mast, etc.) are somewhere.

Yes, this boat has a story.

Looking at the picture of the boat zoomed in, I see
what appears to the mast on the driveway, under the
boat trailer. It looks like it is laying on its side, so the
spreaders may be stored somewhere else, possibly
with the rigging???

you know I never noticed the numbers were missing. the guy said he bought it for 20,000 and put it in the water a grand total of three times. said he has everything in the boat. even has a motor for an extra charge. Im in the proses of trying to sell some of my toys to get the money together. I will have to inquire about the registration .

There is no motor on this boat? I would also I enquire about title.

Sans motor might be a good thing depending on the condition of what he's selling with it. This is a power sailer and is built to have a lot of horses back there.

That's a great deal even if the boat is just a hull. Even if you had to pay for all new standing & running rigging, sails, and a new engine it's worth it.

Are baby blue hulls faster than blue hulls, but not quite as fast as white hulls? 8)

Note that the :macm: has a larger cabin and smaller cockpit than the :macx: . This is something to keep in mind - I like the larger cockpit of the :macx: 8)

The baby blue hull is half fast. I painted mine baby blue above the hull indent so mines a quarter faster the the white hull but NOT at dusk when my speed is only an eighth faster due to the fact that white and light blue look very similar in low light. How ever I removed the decals from my motor and painted part of it blue so my engine is faster.

Great deal, but if he is askng 8k, he will either take $6,500, or start throwing in extras. if you're in the northern latitudes, fall is the tie for buyers, not sellers. You have the winter to clean it up and not use it. He'd have to store it and hear frim his neighbor. If he likes toys, you might be able to work in a nice trade. Good luck?,
