Charleston Harbor

Post by Jeremy K »

Just a quick note to all you fine folks in the forum about a wonderful destination, I'm sure many of you all ready have been there. My family of 6 plus 3 others (grandmother and 2 girlfriends of my adult sons) trailered our ancient M25 from KY to Charleston SC harbor, tied up at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, rented a house, and spent a glorious week sailing around past Castle Pinkney and Fort Sumter and under the Ravenal bridge, accompanied by dolphins, regattas of various racing sailboats, big freighters, a Carnival cruise ship, loads of other beautiful sailboats, and even some good-looking 'stinkpotters' :-) Folks were polite and friendly, the weather was hot but good, and the seafood was great! Sailing was tons of fun; have to watch the tides and the charts for various obstructions and shallows but that's part of the fun, eh? Now I'm back to lake sailing, looking forward to the next trip!

Join us in October for the 3rd Holy City Mac Roundup (http://www.macgregorsailors.com/forum/v ... =4&t=23041) when the sun is more gentle, the winds favorable, the people just as nice.... Thanks Jeremy for the unsolicited advertisement. 8) 8)

Glad you had a great time in our host city!
