I haven't taken a pic of it yet. It was a pretty simple install so I didnt think much of it. I can take one this afternoon. While I'm in there I want to see how the reading compares to my digital voltmeter.

Here is where I put it. I would have liked to put it under the support bar but I have an A/C outlet inside the galley behind that spot that the batter charger plugs into. So I put it under the outlet. I just wanted it in a place that can be seen easily. Not like I'm going to be looking at it all the time.

Here is a reading from both batteries.

I can't tell if the meter is off a bit or if that's just parallax error.

If it turns out to not be parallax error, you can adjust the needle position to match your digital meter (if you think it is the more accurate of the two) by turning the adjustment screw near the needle pivot on the face. You might have to remove a cap or cover, or a piece of tape. The needle should, but might not, read zero with no applied voltage, after you make this adjustment.

I installed a battery checker like tigibson and am very happy with it.

Yes, a simple voltmeter will give you a fair estimate of the state of the batteries. Short of extremely expensive battery monitors they work well. I use mine to ensure the batts are charging when the motor is running. When the fridge is running (a substantial load) it reports voltage levels to tell me enough.
