Tenn Mac Rendevous Yes , No , Maybe?
Last summer there was some discussion on a Macgregor rendezvous on the Tenn river , this spring . I volunteered to help out , but have heard nothing else about it .
Are we going to try and put one together ?
A lot of people showed interest , still interested ?

I would love to be making these shindigs.... But it seems like this whole year is full of medical stuff...... Maybe if I didn't live so far from the " big water " places
Hopefully later this summer or next year I can make these drives

Is there no interest in this? The admiral and I are going down to the Tennessee river area
to get some early sailing in and were hoping to meet a few local Mac sailors. We should be
there about the middle of April. Probably Pickwick Lake or Kentucky Lake open to suggestions.
If anybody is interested in meeting up let me know.

I'd be very interested as I have considerable family in the area, but April is simply too soon and too cool for me to bring a boat down. Plus, with my wife working as a teacher, any trip from now to June is pretty much a non-starter.

I believe I was the guy who started this conversation and remember that you and Sailor Stan both originally offered to help in the planning. As I recall you were somewhere around Mobile Bay and a few weeks from home the last time this was discussed.
I am still interested, but agree April is way to soon to try to o this. Especially this year with the relentless winter raging war on the South and Mid-West. Late Sept or early Oct would be ideal based on my past experience. I helped stage and plan a BMW Motorcycle Rally at Pickwick Dam for many years. It was called the "Return to Shiloh" rally.
Sadly, that rally no longer exists and was relocated North and renamed.
I am all in favor of a planning session.

I talked to one other person , yesterday , who is willing to help on the planning . We did agree that we need at least three people to volunteer or its not worth doing , so we need some volunteers , to attend a planning meeting in the north Alabama / Tenn area .
Please let me know thru this thread and private message .

Re: Tenn Mac Rendevous Yes , No , Maybe?
I am quite happy to help in any way I can. I must say that I am not a reliable helper until after June. After that I am pretty open an can commit. But if you asked me today to commit to a meeting next weekend, I would have to say "Maybe". I am working logistics for a new contract for my company and it always seems the 'Showstopper' problems happen on Friday afteroon 10 minutes before quitting time. So I end p flying out or working the weekend. This last month I have worked three impromtu weekends !! OK I'll stop whining now. We deliver in June so there is light at the end of the tunnel. I live close to Decatur in Athens, So I am near. Set a date and time and I will tyo be there. Thats as good as I can do till fter June.

I guess this is a dead issue as we haven't gotten enough response to try and put it together .

I did not think it a dead issue, I have been waiting for a reply to our last PM where I suggested 1st or 2nd weeend in april for a planning session. The Boatel is open, not sure I passed that on to you or not.
Actually, I thought there was quite a bit of interest.
Bill Spence also lives in AL and has shown intereshat as a few others. "the winter that just won't quit" has probably influenced some further discussions.
