Crusing Chute - First time up !

Post by MartinRocliffe »

Spent some time sailing 'Betty R' on Broken Bay and Brisbane Water over past few weekends. Last Sunday I finally managed to raise the Cruising chute for the first time.
Really happy how it set, and the smooth power it gave the boat.
Even more impressed with the Southern Cross design it has. Am I allowed to fly this as a Pom ? :?

Very nice indeed. Was that a local purchase?

The Southern Cross design Cruising Chute came with the boat when I purchased her in Oct.
Other than a quick rigging check on the trailer outside my house I'd never had the opportunity to fly it.

Last weekend my Brother in law was down from UK and as he's a Sailor too, I was able let him helm
whilst in played around with the sails :)

The Chute feels like new, so I guess the previous owner didn't use it much either.

Awwww Martin, You're no longer a Prisoner of Mother England. You have finally escaped and found Paradise (and a good cricket team). Of course ya can be proud of that very pretty chute :D

And when you get a shore/water based picture of it being flown, post a pic for us.
