Mid-South Macgregor 26X or M owners

Post by 1-Tntimbo »

I live in the Memphis area and just got a 2000 model 26x. I would like to hook up with any other Mac26 owners in TN, AR AL, KY or MS.

Hard to believe nobody on this forum would respond to this, I suppose it offers nothing to debate or argue about (LOL).

With Ky. Lake, Lake Barkley, Pickwick, Sardis , Greers Ferry, Bull Shoals, table Rock, Lake Hamilton and many other nice lakes in the area there should be several Macgregor 26 power sailors out there.

Don't forget sailing the Tennessee River in and around Chattanooga. It's on our list of trips. I'd also like to take the boat to Lake Dale Hollow. I rented a houseboat there a couple of years ago.

How about a Mid-South MacGregor Round up? You pick the inland sea of your choice. Might need to wait until the Spring though...

When you do a search for Mid-South area map, what is predominantly accepted and shown are the States of AR, LA, MS, AL,TN and KY. Some maps leave AR out, but it is literally less than 20 miles from me.

I found none that included GA, NC & SC. Those are normally referred to as Mid-Atlantic or Southeastern States.

Missouri is also pretty close and has some nice lakes.

I just bought a mac 26X. I don't have it in working order, but have ordered the parts and hope to have it going in two weeks. I will be moored in Decatur. I can't wait to discover the Tennessee river !!

I think it is a great Idea t have a roundup !! I read about the great times the pirates have in SC and the cool fun they have at the sippy cup. Just a bit far for me to drive...... something closer to home would be great !!

Round up on the TN River sounds like a cool idea. Several locations come to mind, 2 or 3 around Pickwick Dam or near the entrance to the TN/Tom Waterway.

I have attended a motorcycle rally many times that is held in Huntsville AL at Ditto Landing on the TN River. Nice Marina with great park and campground. We could make this happen if there is enough interest.

We will be cruising Guntersville, Nickajack and Chickamauga lakes of the Tennessee River the last two weeks of October. This will be our third annual leaf peeping cruise.

Is the full enclosure a must for that time of the year on the river?

It sure makes it more comfortable in the evening when it gets damp and cool. In my opinion the full enclosure is the best mod we have added to Sol Mate.
