Hi All,
Been loitering around here a while and researching Mac's. Have a bit of time up my sleeve (ex Telstra Technician) and am considering using it wisely, lazing, sailing and fishing.
Would someone be interested in convincing me to buy a MAC. Have not actually sailed on a Mac but have done a little sailing, was also into sailboarding many years ago, still have it.
If anyone is interested I can be contacted on 0467 849 664. Have relo's and friends along the East Coast so willing to travel between Cairns and Melbourne any time.
Cheers
Peter

Re: Sell me a MAC
I dont need to, they sell themselves if you want a trailerable yacht that draws 300mm of water, sleeps 4 comfortable, has good headroom, removeable ballast, good cockpit, swing keel, swing rudders, powers at 15 knots, sails at 5 knots (easily), helm stearage and looks good (IMHO) then just find one that suits your budget (that's the tricky bit) and go for it. If you are ever on the Sunshine coast and I have the time I would be happy to take you out or at the very least climb all over mine on the trailer, just PM me.
Cheers, Dennis.

Ok Ok sail once a week.....stop .....you are now banned from any further entries on this forum.....at the moment twice a year seems to be the frequency admittedly for up to 2 weeks which is really nice.Staying on the water for a few days makes you forget time...get up with the sun and the rhythm of life settles nicely.

Re: Sell me a MAC
I'm putting mine back into a Western Port Bay marina for the summer in about 5 weeks.
Happy to take you for a sail - or just have a chat.
I love my Mac: love playing/modifying; and love sailing it.

Re: Sell me a MAC
Thanks everyone, great to see so many accommodating people, would love to join the fold.
Yes, I have been looking at BoatSales, and there are even more coming up as the weather improves.
Will now organise a trip, maybe after the school holidays and see what I can fit in.
Gee, twice a year, you might as well just hire one.
But it is great fun just pottering around and trying to improve everything. Just swapped over led's for incandescent bulb nav lights in the fishing boat, talk about difference in current usage.
