Re: Vent Plug
My oil tank for my home is in the basement with the fill outside. There is a fitting in the vent pipe next to the fill pipe that is essentially a whistle - once the tank is full, the whistle stops.mastreb wrote:I think I'm going to do a simpler mod, and just use a compression fitting with a 1" vinyl hose from the v-berth vent run back along the bilge to the stern and come out the cable raceway where the engine controls exit the transom, and put another plug on the end of the tube. Then I've got all the ballast tank controls in the same place.
Call me lazy.
Anyone know a fitting we can do the same with on a hose from the tank fill port?

I can't tell you the number of times I've still been able to burp a bubble of ballast after a long trip!
