Re: parts compatibility/identification
Have you checked sailboatdat.com
There is a bunch of info there on the difference between models and years. I would check the macgregorowners.com site for info on ware the serial # is on another Mac. They only used a few places...
Try posting pictures in the future so others can help identify if things will work. I use my BlackBerry for pictures and video. You can stick it in a dark hole and flash, you have a picture of whats there. If you don't know what you just took a picture of post it. Someone will know.
I still can't figure out how to post pictures on this site!?

You have to upload your pictures to one of the many free picture hosting sites...I happen to use photobucket but there are many others
Once you do this, these sites generate the correct code that you just paste here into a post to show your stuff...

Re: parts compatibility/identification
thanks for the response. i will work on getting some photos. what I need to know is weather or not the other Mac gregor models are compatible with the mac 25? For example, will a keel off of a Venture fit the Mac25? Are the mast and sails useable? If anyone out there knows, I would be ever gratefull for the info. Thanks again, Ryan.

One other way to figure some of these compatibility questions out is to use the BWYachts website (www.bwyachts.com) and see what part numbers match your boat and other boat models...if the part numbers are the same, then they obviously used the same parts for both models of boats. Can't get all of your answers this way, but might help on some of the items. They are also very helpful to answer questions on the phone.

I'm not an expert on these boats but keels and sails are almost certainly not compatible. Macgregor went through phases of swinging centreboards, weighted keels, and daggerboards all of which were unique to each model TTBOMK
