So long, it's been fun!

Post by Keel_Hauled »

Despite being able to keep the boat, the wife and attorney made sure the judge ordered me to pay the ex-wife what is coincidentally that exact value that she placed on the boat in her testimony. I will be selling my poor :macx: for what I can get and will be leaving this forum as visiting it would cause me further emotional damage. You guys and gals have been great and I'll miss you lots!

Nearly happened to me Phillip. And I paid far more in legal bills that the boat was worth. Things get pretty dark when you're in the middle of it all. It WILL get better. Meanwhile, a small day sailor can be had for under $1000 if you search the local clubs. Not if, but when, things get back to normal you can pick up another Mac or maybe even better.

Keep sailing,

Rob

Absolutely K-H! Don't bail out on us (pun intended)!
Just hang around and keep the sailing bug alive (you gotta feed it, you know).
You'll end up with another boat in no time, and you can put a plaque on the back of it with {adult version of nanny-nanny-boo-boo}...or whatever you deem appropriate!

Just to give you a little encouragement, we JUST paid my last child support check (I call the ex "TW") and we've had our boat sitting in our yard for over a year now, silently awaiting some final boat bucks to get her ready for the water. We don't have a dime to spend on her yet, and it sucks to look out the window and see her sitting there, and to dream of hearing the water splashing on her hull...but NOW WE'RE ALMOST THERE! We are so excited to start accumulating some cash now that we do the happy-dance a lot! I come here a lot to keep my chin up and my face in the wind...

So don't give up on us here in the forums or on your hope that you'll be able to get back in the water quickly - because as sucky as it is right now, you can be laughing (and making other gestures) about it soon enough. :D 8) :P

There are tons of people here in FL who sail and will gladly take you out...don't despair!

Where are you located? Don't give up the dream it's just another stumbling block and adds to the journey of finally getting to the destination. We are not about the destination but enjoy the journey we partake in life as well as on the water.
Good luck and stay in touch and we will help you with your journey through encouragement and possibly taking you out to keep the dream alive.
