Sunday I Take Deliverly Of Two New M's

Post by GaryMayo »

I ordered them today, take deliverly Sunday. Truck coming through town on the way to the east coast. Sweet deal. I got a black hull, and I got a blue hull for my wife. This way, when I get tired of her chattering at me, I can just turn down / off the VHF radio. lol

One has the roller sail mast, should I convert the other also?

Thinking about just insuring and registering one of them, my insurance guy will never know the difference. blue, black, almost the same on paper.

Going to try stacking them in the same slip, doubt my neighbors will notice or complain much. They should wedge in nicely, and I will need only one set of dock lines.

They both have dual axel trailers. Going to rip one axle out of one of them, and weld it behind the two axles on the other. Always wanted a tripple axle trailer. I will sell the parts trailer, anyone here want it?

Is it possible to sail two sailboats at once, one (OR BOTH) by remote control? That could be great fun playing chicken on the lake with other sailors and there is no one sailing the boats to get angry at.

I just hasp er a hope I like em. Maybe I should have gotten matching ones?

Good news, is I am back, with lots of questions about the new :macm: 's!

Sunday is a holiday, I wonder if my lake is open, or if they drain it on holidays?

Gary - now that you will have what, is 4 or 5 boats, you need the slip stacking lift. New to the market and first available this Sunday as well (holiday delivery). It is built to allow you stack up to 4 boats in one slip. Works on a similar concept of lifts that allow multiple cars to be parked in the same space. Even has a option to allow mast up storage. Pretty neat how they managed that one.

If you put a hunter edge between them, you would have a Mac cat...the blue hull on the port side will counteract the Coriolis force making the cat turn to starboard of(f) course...

Hasps rule!!

That's interesting. I just got a sweet deal on 2 M's also. One is black and the other a blue hull. Guy was heading East and made me fantastic deal. I wonder.....
I thought I'd take the parts off of one to make the other really awesome. I was thinking taking the mast off one and making a ketch rig on the other. Two headsails of course (Hilander envy). Hey, do you think it's possible to mount BOTH engines on the transom and have 100 horses? Wouldn't that make docking a breeze and those 90hp guys would eat my dust.

Gotta run to the bank, the guy only takes cash, but for this price it's worth it.

Sunday I take delivery is the key.

No matter, I have my blue hull.

Sailed her for the first time today. Two things, she is fast for something so big, with 350 SF of sails. The compass many times today registered 20 degrees, several times 25, and once we hit 30, and my wife started getting ancy. Being 32', and 7500 pounds with 2200 pounds of ballast in the keel, she is really stable. I walk on her, with almost no movement in the water. The yacht club president sailed today, he has an and he said my boat is fast.

The second thing, is her outboard needs revisited. It is too high out of the water, and possibly under powered.

Sounds like fun. But remember...by dual Etec 50s on the back of my new combined M will get back to the marina at 35 knots.

Enjoy it Gary. Looks like a handsome boat. Nice blue hull.
