I got out on the lake and decided it was more wind than I wanted to wrestle with, so I just anchored in the cove across the way. I looked out on the lake later and it really looked rough. I listened to the WB and they were saying winds 20mph with gusts to 30mph - I was glad I was parked.
I stay out until about 5pm. About the time I motored in to the marina the wind had subsided enough, it would have been a good time to start sailing. Oh well, maybe next time.
Did you all try to sail? You've got a nice looking boat. I enjoyed finally getting to see a M in person. Here is a shot for you. If you'd like the full blown picture send me your email and I'll send it to you.
No, you're not out of line. Lot's of guys like to chat about where they want to meet and who's coming and what to bring. We're really tuned into this, sort of like gossip, and we want all the news.
John, if you intended it for all of us, as well as DLT, it's fine. If you were speaking only to DLT, you could've sent the same thing, including IMG tags and picture, in a PM. As far as I'm concerned, it's your call and not for us to judge.
Yeah, I recognize Hill's name, and of course yours. I'm bumping through these posts like a real dink at this time of night and realize it's time to shut it down.
But, No, we kept the sails in the cabin. It was wa'ay too much for me.
We were also so far over gross I hate to say how many people we had on board... So, she was handling like a real dog anyway...
We saw you anchored in that cove, and considered coming over to say hi. But, with the wind and waves, I figured it was safer for both of us I we kept our distance...
We went bakc and forth I don't know how many times, but the kids just loved it...
That's DLT's M. They were at the ramp waiting for some company as I was motoring out to the lake. Actually I though I snapped a couple of shots but I guess I wasn't paying much attention to the camera. I've still got the X.
I want to listen in on anyone's conversation about where they sailed...keep it up. At the rate Jim is going my boat will be too old to sail. Sold the trike, sold the '56...yeah! time to sail....bummer....he just bought a '51 Hudson.
I enjoy hearing about fun sailing days that people had, but please keep in mind when it might be better to send a private message or an email instead. Here's a hint - any topic that starts with "<some board user> - <some question>?" and feels something like: "Hey Ted - How are the kids?" or "Sam - did you get my email?" - or "Hank - Call me on my cell phone" belongs in a private message or a direct email to somebody. Otherwise it's a topic that will probably get deleted. On the other hand, a thread on "Beautiful Sailing Weather" telling about a fun sailing day and asking if other people made it out is more likely to survive on the board.
