This is true. As an M owner, my boat sails like a dog. Fortunately, I've got a Suzi70 on the rear to compensate. If it were a pure sailboat, I'd hate it as it points like crap compared to a keel boat. I tolerate it as I know that it's a compromise boat and when the wind dies, I'll be back at the marina before my buddies.

The shoal draft boat will sail a lot differently from the full keel. It too is a compromise from the ideal design to allow for shallow draft. Some boats do just fine with the shoal keel. My Hunter 34 sailed very well with that configuration.

After a few weeks on your CM30 you will have a handle on the boat. Best of luck and no matter what you do, stop by and post here of your experiences.

I predict the first mod will be a new hasp.

They have not issued slip assignments yet. It is possible, I may get on the new dock, as John said he has not been in contact with everyone yet that currently uses the new docks. Money is tight in the USA right now.

Whatever happens, happens. I see a positive side to any way it rolls. In some ways, slipping an older boat, is asking for trouble, as any old boat is harder to keep a tight hull on. Keeping an old boat on the water, may be just asking for problems. Maybe a boat like that should be a trailer sailor? Same goes for my 1983 Mac 25. I am starting to question the idea of a slipped boat at all.

I do that, see every aspect to a problem till forget what the question was. lol

I would prefer the new dock as it has power to keep a bilge pump ready if needed, and it has water to keep the boat clean. A zero services slip is a little like kissing your sister. lol

The CM30 comes with a dingy I just learned, so that makes it easier to do a mooring ball.

I just want to sail. Everything getting to that point, is just details. Like going running, is not about pulling your shoes on, it is about the running.

I told my wife today, we should just suck it up, and learn to put the mast up each time. We could get it into a science. A drill one just does without thinking about it.

So that 5 year list for the new slips may also be significantly shorter. I had the very same experience at two Marinas here in Colorado, both had three year lists and offered me a slip within a few months. Times are, or have, changed, so I suggest you get on the new list ASAP. Good luck.

I got a spot on the permanent slips! Water and electricity, and I can go up to 32'!

Looks like I may be selling the Mac if I like the CM 30.

Keep 'em both unless you are strapped for cash. Just sayin'

BTW... congrats on the powered slip. I wish our marina had power. I have to depend on solar.

Thanks, yes, the hook ups will be pretty sweet!

I live on a 100 acre lake, so keeping the 13' er would be nice, once in a while.

I purchased a power boat just for kicks and giggles, so that stays, more than likely.

I own a 30' er, and now have a slip for her with power and fresh water hook ups, so that is not going anywhere for awhile.

Keep the Mac? Maybe, but what goes? No person needs 4 boats and 4 boat trailers!

Looking over the list of stuff that just needs to go away, is the little boat, and quite possibly the Mac.

Spring will tell, as I see how we like the CM-30.

I read the CM-30 is a real heal monster. I like flying tilted on the water!

The most boats wins. With my current fleet of 7, a mere 4 would compound my current issues if inadequacy and "shortcomings"

That 26 will be difficult to replace in your area Gary, although I guess you are not one afraid to roam to grab a boat deal ... :D

Visited the dock tonight. Sweet!

Its not so much toy wins, but live and learn.

I arrange furniture in a room, but cannot visualize it in my head. Several times around the room with everything, and the items settle in.

My goal is a big lake sailboat on a slip. Got it!

& a power boat I can take on vacation behind my toter home. Got it!

While the Mac 25 was a starting point, and I dearly love all it brought me, I will most likely let her go once I have the 30' boat in my slip.

Should other boats present themselves that would be ladder rungs up, I am not opposed to again shuffling the deck. Provided the Hasps are correct. lol

My boating experience would have been much different had it not been for Nebraska Football! That is what pushed me out of an X and into two separate boats rather than one do everything boat.

Go team!

Forgot to mention the dock is locked with a steel mesh door with a deadbolt lock.

Seems I have all my security needs covered with deadbolts! lol
