When Might The Next Mac Be Due Out?
There are apx 5000 X's, and about half that many M's as I understand it. Hull number 3000 has yet to be sold, I guess.
On top of wondering when the new model may come out, what feature (s) would you like to see on new models?
I ask this question, as I am going to be picking up a power sailor sometime between now and next spring, and if there are any indications things are brewing in the kitchen, that will effect my decision.

I see a M on eBay, ay 16000 reserve not met.
What is a preferred way of locating a good used boat? The local Mac dealer 5 hours round trip has a used X with a kicker.
The way I found my Mac 25, was I crawled out of bed early, and drove to a marina, with cash in hand. That way may not be the best for locating a boat with features I am looking for.

Re: When Might The Next Mac Be Due Out?
Gary,
Not sure the "best" way but here is what I did. I needed to sell an airplane and was in midst of a residence change so I had time. I began scouring every source I coul find to help determine market. I made spread sheets on makes and models and then on specific ads. This can be frustrating because many folks forget to update when they sell or change their mind. Craig's list is interesting because you can focus in on niche markets (ie:Albuquerque or Palm Springs for sailboats). Over the year i looked, i found several interestng boats i could almost afford like a pristene Seaward in MI. But, i kept sort of " locked and loaded" but never got spooked by the big buck.
The boat I finally bought was in the classifieds on this site. I found the ad a couple of months before I was ready to spring but held off contacting the sellers until I was really ready. I had settled on wanting an early "M" because it was closest to my feature list and within the budget I had negotiated with my partner of 49 years. The boat was in Portland, I am in Phoenix so I negotiated sight unseen. The sellers were good to their word and the boat was at least as good as advertised. I made the trip, paid cash, got clear title and brought it home. Only hitch was I had to buy insurance over my cell phone while going through downtown Portland as that was the one thing I forgot to do in advance.
I still feel good about my purchase a year later with zero regrets. The year of sort of determined research seems to have been well worth it. Once I made the purchase I threw all that away.
Good luck with your search.

On other boards, members tease me, and the mods come in to rescue, here, the mods tease me! lol
I placed my baby on eBay. If it sells, when it sells, I will have toy money to put into a boat.
My wife wants siding on the house. Women are so practical!

Sorry about that, I'm punchy in the morning
Other resources
Iboats.com
eBay motors of course
Trailer sailers has a classified section
Craigslist
Between these, you can get sense of whats out there and pricing. Peoples asking pricing is usually unrealistic, and anyone not willing to fire up the motor for any excuse should be prepared to separate it for 6000 bucks under market....assume a motor that doesn't run is an undeployable anchor

My local dealer (five hours away) in Kearney has an M, now, he did not a week ago. Have to go see him again. Not a bad price, but not the engine I wanted. 25 HP 4 stroke. To me, putting a small motor on a powerboat is like kissing your grandmother on one hand and a date with Paris Hilton n the other. Both gals can give you a peck on the cheek, but it is not the same.

Gary - you can pull that engine off, and resell and get EXACTLY what you want if the price is right....might need a friend to help get it off (about 125 # for a 2 stroke, 175# for a four stroke Im guessing)My local dealer (five hours away) in Kearney has an M, now, he did not a week ago. Re: When Might The Next Mac Be Due Out?
It is the wrong time of year to sell a high priced motorcycle, but then again, it was the wrong time of year to get interested in sailboats, and I did that. If it sells, I will be moving forward, most likely on an M but other boats could catch my eye. I do own a semi, so pulling larger stuff around is a possibility.

I asked this question of the factory when I bought my 2011. Roger is currently working on the 70' and there are no current plans for updating the 26. Given the economy my prediction is that theGaryMayo wrote:There are apx 5000 X's, and about half that many M's as I understand it. Hull number 3000 has yet to be sold, I guess.
