Size and length of the four battens for a V-21 sail

Post by bobincorliss »

G'day all, I'm hopping to locate the four battens for a friends V-21 sail (1968) I'm concerned that sailing any longer w/o them will damage the sail. Can anyone offer help as to size and the lengths he will need.

Thanks

There's no way of knowing what length you need without measuring the batten pockets. I recommend that you measure the the batten pockets length and width and call Sailrite.com. They're in the DIY sail business and can advise you about batten caps, length, stiffness, procedures, etc.

There are other online sources for battens (just try google), but Sailrite probably has the best support for the DIY-er.

Or take the sail to a local sail loft if you have one.

G'Luck :)
