Kentucky Lake in November?
Thinking about trying to extend my season a little bit and trailer down to Kentucky Lake in mid-November. Anybody have any insight they can offer?

Re: Kentucky Lake in November?
Kentucky Lake is a great sailing lake---very very long--it connects to others (upstream--odd--River flows North) and in fact you can go clear to the Gulf by going through canals..etc. We put in at the dam. Marina there did not charge to leave the truck and trailer and don't think there was a launch fee. We got there late in the evening--put in and anchored in the cove by the ramp. We then sailed south for several days, then back towards the dam. They've made a canal between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley near the dam. Lake Barkley is also a great place to sail. The "Land between the Lakes" is between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley and doesn't have the housing, etc. that is on the other side.
There are lots of great places to anchor safely. Take a Danforth style anchor for great mud anchoring.
Kentucky Lake is used by commercial boats/ships--quite a bit of big traffic--barges, etc. so give them plenty of room.
Don't know how comfortable it will be in November--be ready for very chilly nights.
