Add a ss tang to the pulley as seen in this pic

Since your whole mast moves on an :macm: wouldn't that cause resistance to the mast pivoting?

I think I can work around that by running the proper pivot angles
but have to wait until spring to get the mast-up to work on that part of it
on an M if you mount your halyard base pulleys in front of the mast as I did it will not interfere with mast rotation

Be interesting what you come up with. You already gave me an idea for my :macx: for running the regular block and tackle boom vang back to the cockpit. 8) I always hated balancing myself on the mess bench seat ledge with an open companionway hatch trying to pull down on the boom vang in rough seas.

I also purchased the Garhauer rigid vang mod from Kelly Hanson for my 2007 26M. I have had it on the boat for three years and it has served us well through many long trips. However, I have a question concerning a long spring that came with it. I do not see the spring installed in your rig either. I called, emailed and did everything but send smoke sigals to Kelly Hanson regarding this. No reply. :macm: Since no documentation came with it, I am clueless as to where this spring goes. Any ideas?

Please post pic's I have to asume you got a spare compression spring ! if so lucky you !
the rigid vang should be spring loaded with an internal spring inside the SS Tube section of the vang, you should be basicaly be able to swing off the end of your boom and the vang will suport your weight ! :D most of us anyway ?
If your vang is not spring loaded ! it will not be doing the job it is intended to do ! :o , just doing the same thing as a regular vang with some rigid support , when my rigid vang is unloaded it will raise the boom up nice and high outa the way

hope this helps J 8)
