What length hatch adjuster for a 26X

I am interested in installing a hatch adjuster on the forward hatch of my 26x. The model I am considering comes in two lengths, a 12 inch and a 14 inch. I searched the Mods section and found two installs, however neither mentioned the lenght of adjuster they used. Would anyone be so kind as to relate what size adjuster they installed on their boat? Thanks in advance.
