proper prop for Etec 60
I recently repowered my 2001 X with a 2006 Etec 60 and was curious if anyone else had done the same...The PO had it on a 18 ft fishing boat and it is proped with a 15.5 x 15...It will only get 4000 WOT on the Mac should I look at a smaller diameter or pitch change?

Call Mike or Jeff Inmon at the factory - - - be sure to tell them at what altitude you are boating. You should be getting more RPM's.

I agree with Rick. I have an Etec 60 on my
and hit aound 5200+ RPM at WOT. ( the lakes in my cruising 'grounds' are generally around 700' elevation)

Sea level--14" dia. x 13 pitch, 3 blade std OEM alum. should get you 5,500 rpm with full ballast. Optimum on that engine is 5.650.

Factory 14" aluminum prop on a 26M (Mike Inmon @ Macgregor). I actually topped at 22knots with the bilge bone dry (closed before launching). I was running offshore and actually managed to shake the anchor off the pulpit - I was hauling butt!!!!
The other difference was that I used 0 ethanol gas for the first time. It's more expensive but the engine was very smooth and purred like a kitten. I assume that's where the kick came from.
