Model Years With Sliding Galley & No Lead Ballast?

Post by tomasrey88 »

I'm not sure but I think that the first year to have a sliding galley was 2005 and the first year to have a lead ballast was 2007. Therefore, the only two model years to have no lead ballast with a sliding galley was 2005-2006. Is this correct? Thanks. :macm:

Edit: I did not know that there would be so much controversy over the word "lead". Please replace the word "lead" with 300 lbs ballast. I basically want to know what model years offered the sliding galley without the 300 lbs ballast. Thank you.

I don't know...but I'm fairly sure there is no lead in that ballast. If I recall, it is 300 pounds of resin not lead.

I also doubt that it's lead.
Lead costs to much, I'd think.
I think I read somewhere that 300 lbs of concrete is used on all year M's, but don't know for sure.
Mike Inmon my chime in with the real answer.

I'm not positive, but I believe all 26M's have the ballast. I'm fairly certain my 2003 (hull #19) does.

I have a 2003 26M without the sliding galley and I know it has the 300 # of permanent ballast. This info was printed on the MacGregor homesite in 2003 and cited as one of the differnces between the X & M along with a a whole lot of other changes, I distinctly remember reading back when I first bought my 26M. What material was used they did not mention but they did mention the ballast, all M models have it.
