26x boom length
I'm currently scrapping the 'Profurl' inboom furling system on my 26x, it was on the boat when I bought it as an inexperienced sailor and I thought it was ok.
However it is now apparent that this system is not suited to the 26x, it is extremely difficult to furl in the slightest wind and the boom is by far too heavy for the mast.
The guy at my marina says he has a used 26 boom which he can replace it with but I'm not sure that my ex profurl mainsail will fit so can anyone tell me the standard sail foot length or boom length on a 26x so I can discover whether my sail will need re-cutting to suit.

Re: 26x boom length
Since mine happens to be off the boat and I was sure 8' was wrong, I just put a tape on mine. It is 10'-6.75" end plate to end plate. I believe the "E" dimension foot length of a 26x main is 10'.

Now I am going to have to go down to the boat and measure
I was sure
I measured it at 8' the last time I did so

With a heavy sigh & settled in gloom,
the Captain emerged from the stateroom.
The race was lost, the Admiral agreed,
that the reason he couldn't get up to speed,
was because he had a short boom!
So then...size does matter!

Re: 26x boom length
Agreed - my boom is just over 10'
As to the main sail... it would be my expectation that it will require a re-cut as a minimum... possibly even replacement.

Re: 26x boom length
Need to know what your foot length is on the Sail, my boom length is 10'6" not includeing gooseneck or aft fittings (Aluminum boom only Mac.X 1997).
If your sail foot is about 3 inches shorter, than a 10'-3" sail foot would work, anything less will also work.
