Hi,
I have a 2009 mac26M. I am thinking of removing the carpet and puting in wood veneer. I am wondering about the glue that that is used. Apart from brute force pulling, is there a preferred solution I can ues to remove the glue to make it easier for me to remove the carpet? What should I know about this solution so that I can glue the wood veneer afterwards? What else should I know, pls?
FWIW, I live in central europe. I do have access to hardware stores in the US, also.
Regards,

Your carpets are glued in?????
Ours just lay there in our 2005.
Easy to clean.
I'd think twice about glue for any flooring.
Two sided tape perhaps.
Or sticky sided velcro tape.

I think he is referring to the head liner and not the carpet on the floor, if so, good luck with that. You will have a hard time removing all the glue residue to get the interior smooth enough to apply veneer. Buy the time you are done, you will probably be looking for a new head liner.

I think there is an advantage to the carpet on the hull sides. One is that it insulates some and the other is that it wicks moisture away from the hull walls when condensation is a problem like in the winter. Good luck keeping the weight down with wood. We are looking at covering the bulkhead wall just aft of the head with an inlaid wood picture like a sunset and a sailboat but not the outer hull walls.
