Home Weather Station with Wind Speed.
So I saw in the Menards flyer this week they have a home weather station with temp, humidity, and wind speed for $30.00 ($35 before rebate). I am too cheap to buy a real marine unit. The entire system is battery operated. The wind gauge and the outdoor temp/humidity is wireless. Anyone ever install one of these types of systems on your Mac? It is always nice to know how hard the wind is blowing. I figured that I would mount the wind unit so that North is the front of the boat and then use that to gauge my sailing angles. Anyone ever have luck using this type of setup? This unit uses 2 AA batteries in the wind gauge. Any idea on how long the batteries should last?

Re: Home Weather Station with Wind Speed.
I have one of these at home.
They are good units but I doubt if would work on Mac.
Yes it does show wind direction but only when it's fixed mounted and after lots of adjustments @ the top.
It's meant to be used in fixed position.
I'd love to install one of those real marine wireless units but they are so expensive still, I think I'll wait.
