Adjusting the forestay length

There is not much Tension on the lines.I think I will just snug it up by using the screw on the bottom.
I just want it tight.not banjo string tight.Just tight.I notice when I'm sailing the form isn't that great
on the front sail.To me it looks like it needs to stretched tighter

I kinda had this problem early on as well. Maybe not quite as loose/slack as yours looks.

I adjusted my stay adjusters on both sides (both forward and aft adjusters) one "notch" which was equivalent to about 1/4" and that helped. I used a loos guage but right now I don't remember the numbers I had before I adjusted and what I had after I adjusted. But it did tighten up my forestay a little.

Thanks Jim..I will try that.Everything got out of adjustment when I had my mast down off the boat.
I do think & have always thought the front sail is not as tight as it should be.I'm not talking about banjo string
tight.just tight as to have proper form while sailing

If the plastic foil on the CDI or Mac furler has any kinks and bends in it witch most do then the forestay will always look slack even though it is tight becuase it is free floating on the forestay and is a loose fit, the plastic foil does not retain a straight rule sometimes on a very hot day all the kinks & bends will come out but the next time you strap her to the mast she'll take on those bends when you go over the spreaders, anywhere she sags on the mast
Also if you over tighten the internal halyard she will create bends on the plastic foil really noticed when it gets hot out

Sure noticed a difference after running the nuts up.Snugged the forestay tension up a bit.Put the boat in for bottom painting & have not had a chance to sail this holiday

Unfortunately, the only way to get good tension on the forestay is with an adjustable backstay. It is virtually impossible to do it with the shrouds. Shrouds can take up some slack, but never make the forestay tight, even with extreme loads (ones you wouldn't want.) I' have spent more hours than I care to admit trying to achieve this very thing. Finaly gave in and got an adjustable backstay with masthead swivel for the 's rotating mast. If performance is important to you, it's really a worthwhile mod. One alternative is running backstays, which I tried a few years ago, but I found them to be more trouble than they're worth.

I didn't get much tension on the forestay , a little..Just got the boat off the paint rack today.Fresh bottom paint.
