Help me find companionway step?

I bought my 98 in Feb 09 and the PO who was in a wheelchair had removed the step and misplaced it. I talked to Cheryl at Blue Water Yachts and she said that she could not get that part. She suggested modifying a ladder from an Does anybody know where I might find a replacement or should I just do the ladder install. The base has the hardware for attaching step so I would like to find another one if possible. Any wrecking yards for 's Thanks - Or if somebody changed to the ladder from step if you have your old step? I would pay handsomely

Why not simply install a 1997 to 2000 ladder mod?

Jose, i was already thinking about doing the ladder, why is your photo so small? I can't see any details even when I click on it stays the same size. I would still like to find original step, anybody Also, can anybody tell me why I am getting no results when I search mods I put in companionway ladder,Companionway step, ladder, step, cabin w/ladder,step, , interior, year, all kinds of combinations. Nothing seems to work I know I have seen them somewhere on site, 2-3 different posts, what the heck am I doing wrong

I finally put a passive vent in the very front on my 98 26X ballast tank. All of this talk about companionway steps got me to thinking back to when I wanted to remove enough of the lower step so that it would be level with the rest of the aft berth area, in other words lop off the the outer fiberglass step and the inner ballast hump, then glassing it over with a teak cover to finish it off. One of the issues was finding an 2000x companionway ladder and the second was having to remove part of the head door ala Windara's mod. I hate having to struggle getting storage bins etc over the hump. Has anyone done this mod?
