Mast Padeye Installation

Post by JustSail »

I bought a whisker pole that came with a mast padeye. How do I install this on my mast? Do I need to get self-tapping screws or do I drill the mast? What type of screws should I get? Can I use stainless screws with an aluminum mast?

I did a search a found a lot of info about using the whisker pole and where to mount it, but nothing on how to actually secure the padeye.

If its a plastic padeye it can be installed with SS screws is its a SS padeye put an insulating tape on the back of the padeye & install with SS rivets

We have a whisker pole setup and I located our plastic pad eye at 44 inches up from the deck, I used 4 alum. pop rivets to attach it. It works well.
