Sailing Admirals, Better than a boat, A lucky mans morning

Post by waternwaves »

A beautiful morning on puget sound.......

Wake up on a hunter sailboat.
sit out and have tea, while getting ready to go to work. Talk to the admiral about sailing the mac in north sound this weekend,
Sun is shining, 8 kts of wind, head for the showers.
, the mac is 60 miles away in North puget sound.

Get back from the showers.....
The dock walkers (Older men 55+ with time and boats on their hands) are chatting up the admiral, who is loading a few things on the hunter, and trying to find out how this woman sails this boat by herself (very well actually).
(course if I was single, I would gravitate toward her also.......)

They comment on our supposed 'upgrade' she tells them we mostly sailed on the macX.....
They try to tell her that is not a real sailboat.....

"a camper"

"not fast"

"aren't you glad you got rid of it......."

When she politely tells them.....
NO, we still have it and enjoy it,

and in fact We are sailing this weekend in the north sound with it, and maybe with Captain Paul on his M. this boat here takes too long for a weekend trip to the san juans....

The dock walkers just look at us.............Why.................????? would we sail on the mac instead............

Lets see.......

while you guys are stuck walking the docks looking at others boats...........(Mind you........they both had boats, and for some reason the wives did not want to sail with them in their traditional (read less comfortable ) boats.

I truly am a lucky man with my sailing admiral. Who is willing to endure the difficulties and rules and inconveniences of staying a couple of nights a week in a marina.....just so I dont have to drive quite so much.

(not to mention saling after work.......heheheheheh)

Now to check and see just what kind of weather we are going to have after opeining day.

Scott - - - that really wasn't that harsh if your boat is still "winterized". He didn't consider YOUR feelings when he wrote his "we sleep on the boat so I don't have to drive far story".

Ouch. Now THAT'S harsh.

Especially coming from a guy who has a boat called "THE NUTS"! :D

I don't even want to know what you call your dingy, Rick!

Yesterday and today have been such great days in the Northwest it's a crime that I wasn't able to get out on the water. Looks like we won't get Allegro in the water this weekend for opening day either.

At least I did spend some time on the boat this afternoon. I powerwashed it while it was snug in it's boathouse on the trailer in the backyard. Now it's clean enough to actually be seen on. We'll get in in the water soon.

You can hide the women on your Mac of course (thread steering again)

Sailing admirals do rock, dont they?? Mine are up in the Adirondacks with all the women in the family on Boyle Women Annual Outing (rock climbing, hiking, sailing, canoeing etc)..leaving me home all alone for this weekend

The only thing better than having a sailing Admiral, is having one that knows when to stay home. There are two theories about having women on boats - and neither of them works.
But I will say that I do not have any experience nor have I done the research regarding how a Imagegay avitar sails - must be one of the new "imitator" boats by Hunter so I will defer to Scott and all those ladies who saw it.
