Mac26X "bathroom" sink

Post by dick »

I'm curious...does anyone use the sink in the Mac26X bathroom?

I find that mine just takes up space that could better be used to give some leg room when using the potty.

I'm thinking of tearing mine out but I don't want to hurt my resale value if
the sink is a selling point.

Comments. please.

We use ours a little (kids brushing teeth, etc.), but if it were not there, we probably wouldn't miss it. It does look neat though.

The bathroom sink is definately redundant. I would be reluctant to tear it out though. The storage underneath it is handy and the sink can be used to toss stuff into for temporary storage till it can get stowed.

I feel removing the sink would have a negative impact on resale value. A Mac is a big purchase. Buyers are aware of the layout. I am a recent buyer and looked at several Macs before purchasing mine. I dimissed one because I didn't like the Mods done on it.

The X has a bathroom sink? Are you talkingabout that little storage bowl in the head?

I've been considering tearing mine out for some time. Will it hurt resale?...Who knows, but I think if you just cut it out and that's it, it'll be an eye sore that will hurt resale for sure. BUT if you build in something nice, like a small but much improved place to store things, then that could help quite a bit. As soon as I have time and figure what I want to do with the hole, I'll cut mine out.

Weactually use it quite a bit for washing hands and brushing teeth, particularly when the gally sink is being used for cooking or dishes. The sink has become much more useful since we installed a pressure water system.

I can envision a "floor to ceiling corner cabinet" though........

Now if you can do for this little corner what you did for the galley, it would improve resale value!

Mark, if times get tough and you need an alternative occupation, I would say that doing kitchen re-design for MACs would be a bonanza. That is a super improvement.

If this board ever comes up with the Academy Awards for mods, you da man.

Wait, Wait!! I have no where near the talent to do this. Dave Clark is the master of this mod! :o It is the best galley mod I've ever seen.

And as someone on the 26X-list said, you could always use it as a urinal, if trying to stretch Porta-Potti capacity.
Ewwww :? Besides being rather a gross concept, I think you would have to learn to hang upside down from the ceiling (like a bat) while peeing... Probably a lot easier to just go off the back porch area :D
