I haven't walked the deck yet, but both of my kids said it is a lot more ridgid than my 25's deck. I am afraid to walkabout on my 25's deck.

Question of the day #4
I thought I'd read somewhere that the
had a non-balsa cored deck. In the
sales video they talk about balsa cores,

Re: Question of the day #4
I believe that the 26X has either balsa or foam core, depending on when it was made... later boats have more balsa. However, it doesn't really matter since the rigidity is not from the balsa or from the foam - instead it's the fiberglass overlay around the cores that offers the stiffness. I walk on my 26X deck all the time, and I've been up to 200 lbs. (though thankfully I'm now down to 180). Don't worry, it's plenty strong enough.... never heard of one caving in yet!

Re: Question of the day #4
I have found there are a few spots that seem "weak". I can feel the deck "give" a little in certain spots where it doesn't in others.

I think the
got rid of balsa around 2000 and later IIRC. There is still plywood in the front hatch and the cockpit sole though.

If you are afraid to walk on the deck of your 25, it may have a waterlogged core. My 25 never had much give to it, but I have been on another that felt like I would fall thru.
