Captain Mac's school
Has anyone taken the courses offered from Captain Mac's school of seamanship in Vancouver? I've booked a course for the week of May 12 leaving from Mosquito creek marina and was wondering if anyone has taken his courses before and how they liked it.

well hello Marc:
You should call Capt. Mac and book for the same week, I have room in the truck and it'll be a blast. The plan is to come back and launch the following weekend. Oh and as I recall...... wasn't it you following me and yelling "slow down, wait for this old blue tank"???
Finally got the VHF by the way, I'll be hooking it up this weekend. Ahhhh, the joys of storing it in my own backyard.....

Well the course is done and it was a blast!!!
Left from Vancouver and grossed the georgia straight the first day and stayed in a small cove south of Gabriola. Second day, went to Conovers cove and toured the island. Took a few pics of an older Mac that also stayed in conovers. Day three, went throught the Dodd narrows and stayed at the dinghy dock pub across the harbour from Nanaimo. Day four, went over to Silva Bay and had a little too much fun at the pub (ohhh, the head is still pouunding).... Friday, sailed back over to Mosquito Creek and wrapped up the boat. Very nice trip indeed.
As for Capt. Macs.... The instruction is top notch and he's quite a funny guy. Not only does he have a lot of patience, he's not shy about telling you when you screw up a couple of times. If anyone is considering taking a course to get them started on a lifetime of chartering, fine tuning thier abilities or correct a few bad habits, then I strongly recommend taking this course. Even after the course was over, He not only directed me to great places to buy some parts for my Mac but he came in to the store to make sure I got his discount as well.
I noticed that he has a few vids on youtube and his latest Vid includes pics and video from my trip. Lot's of Orca and Porpoises.
Upon my return from this trip, I also noticed that Marc in his blue M couldn't catch this (slow?) white X.
Fair winds....... Randy
