I know I probably shouldn't have done this, but I posted the link in the Aussie trailer sailer forum.
Well.....what can a bloke say. With all the anti-Mac sentiment......there is a small degree of mayhem over there now.
I probably shouldn't say this either, but it has been great entertainment tho....just about as much as watching the video.
I'm picking the Mods there will have to close the thread soon.
Cheers

I cant see a manual helm holding at 45 degrees let alone an AP.
I have the same unit as in the video. It holds very well up to rounding up.

It does better beating and beam and has a little more trouble broad and running.

Well folks.... if you look at the author of the video, it was Pegasus26M.

Anyone know what the name of my boat is?

As for the heel angle, we hit 45 deg quite frequently, no biggie. The wind speeds???? There was a small craft wind warning on the go, no other boats in sight, we were deep reefed with furled jib... on Leon's boat, with his weighted keel, enhanced IDA rudders, Quantum Sails, no stock Mac to be sure. To me, felt like solid 30-35+ with gusts to 40-45 easy, but then again, I am not a digital wind instrument so I might be off a bit. LOL

I posted the video on UT because it would not fit on my PB account. The purpose was to show others how well the Mac can handle rough seas and moderate winds, ie put to death the myth that Mac's can't sail in over 15 kts. I hear that all too often.

What speed were we doing.... Leon can answer that as he kept checking on that. I think 7-8 mph, sorry for not using knots.

I have about 300 pics of our sailing adventures if anyone is interested.

Phillip, I think they went back into their shell after they got flamed by the various TSP members.
Hopefully they stop this silly jealousy bit now.

As for the IDA rudders, it is Leon's boat, and he has had them for a while now, and swears by them. I bought a set for my M and will try them out soon. When I was at the helm on Leon's boat, she handled much better than my M with stock rudders. Especially in rolling seas.

K9, "MEMENTO VIVERE" is my slogan for life, "remember to live" basically. My 26M's name is PEGASUS as seen in the photo above.

Rick, Leon is the crazy guy going up on deck to play nip and tuck with the main. Great guy, great sailor. The 2 of us on the M make quite a team, never have to say anything, and the other is taking care of something that needs taking care of.... like that the whole time. We were going to enter into a race on Sat, while I was there visiting, but decided that was too much like work... LOL.

I am glad you all enjoyed the video at least. I was a blast making it.

Be safe

Unlike Leon and I....

Ray,
I'm lying low, keeping silent, and not moving as much as an eyebrow.

Mistral
All I sought to do initially was show a Mac in action, and two blokes having a heck of a lot of fun doing it as they want to.

I thought of putting the link up here, but my survival instincts tell there are smarter options.........

Maybe 30 knots but even than that boat will heel 30-40 degrees with just the working jib up. Probably winds were 22-25 knots.

Thanks KM.
I found savetube dot com after I asked the question. Just need to change the file type to .flv, and play it back with Realplayer.
But of course I didn't download it, I mean it might be copyrighted ;-)
